The trip begins with an organic farm to learn about sustainable farming practices, then traditional rice farming tour where you can gain knowledge about history and learn about the traditional tools used by Balinese farmers in the process of plowing rice fields with the help of a cow. You will also have the opportunity to directly participate in the rice planting process. Then, you will have the experience of preparing dinner with local people. Next is the much-awaited experience of enjoying the meal you have prepared yourself, accompanied by the rare and amazing experience of witnessing the beauty of fireflies’ light in the open natural surroundings.

• Observed Balinese farmers using traditional methods, such as plowing with cows, showcasing a harmonious relationship between humans, animals, and nature.
• Engaged in educational sessions led by local farmers, where I learned about organic farming principles and techniques for soil health and water conservation.
• Actively participated in rice planting, from preparing seedlings to transplanting them into flooded paddies, gaining hands-on experience in sustainable agriculture practices.

Traditional Balinese cuisine is a unique blend of flavors, aromas, and culture that has been passed down from generation to generation. Each Balinese dish tells its own story, reflecting the richness of local ingredients such as Bali’s typical spices like candlenut, galangal, and aromatic ginger, which give this cuisine its distinctive characteristics. Some of the dishes that will be learned include Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Sate (skewers), and Godoh (banana fritters).

Fireflies are unique insects because of their ability to produce light. During the day, fireflies sleep on dry wood bark and only come out at night. The phenomenon of light emission from fireflies is the result of a chemical reaction called chemiluminescence.
